The Charleston Courthouse was built in 1923 for $5,000.

The first real courthouse in Ozark was built in 1840, and was located on the northwest corner of the square. In 1851, a new courthouse was built in the center of the square. It was burned during the Civil War. 1871 brought a new courthouse at a cost of $13,000 and was located on the site of the one that burned. In June 1904, that courthouse was torn down for construction of the current courthouse. It was completed in July 1905 at a cost of $60,300. In January 1944, a fire destroyed the upper part of the courthouse. The upper part of the courthouse was rebuilt in 1945.
